ELDERLY CARE

2020

U.K. / GLOBAL

This concept was intended for the UK's national Health Service (NHS) and was meant to be presented to the board of chairmen (the CCG). The intention of presenting this concept will hopefully be considered a step in the right direction to help improve elderly care by creating sustainable working environments for care-workers, thus reducing incidents of elderly abuse.

SURVIVORS

According to a 2020 report by Age UK, an estimated 180,000 women and 98,000 men aged 60 to 74 were victim-survivors of domestic abuse in England and Wales in 2018/19, based on CSEW data.

The study further stressed the point that the statistics were collected before the Covid-19 pandemic, “which will have exacerbated the problems facing older victims”.
