This candid photo pays homage to Ai Weiwei's 'Middle Finger' series. While the image is very likely to cause offense, the intention behinds the image is to highlight the juxtaposition of celebration of culture and tradition that is scored and shamed by conservative values.
This also speaks to the history of dominion over a people by colonial belief systems.
