WHEN ART IMMITATES LIFE
This campaign, "It's complicated," was a national television advertisement for Interflora in Denmark, created by ad agency Brandhouse in February 2017. The concept was substancially enriched by personal contribution that drew on real-life, relatable experiences with friends to help shape the narrative, lending the final film an authentic and emotionally resonant quality.


On Creative Contribution and Corporate Memory
My original treatment was conceived as a queer-inclusive sequel to Interflora's established high-school love story campaign. Informed by the authentic experiences of my LGBTQ+ friends, the concept offered a fresh perspective often absent from conventional narratives. While the core love-triangle structure was retained, the setting and emotional context were my distinctive contribution, forming the foundation of the pitch that was ultimately approved and produced.
I remain deeply appreciative of my internship at Brandhouse and the mentorship I received. It is, however, a disservice to the creative process to allow the origin of an idea to be wholly obscured. The authentic insight that sparked the award-winning "It's Complicated" campaign deserves accurate attribution, irrespective of selective memory in the executive suite.
